Eric Senich Talks about Bob Crane and Our Podcast on WICC

Exactly one year ago, I was just minding my own business, surfing the Net, looking to see if any of Bob Crane's radio airchecks had surfaced anywhere. Sometimes, although not often, they show up, after decades of being stored in someone's basement or attic. So every couple of months, I go digging. And in late May last year, I found a gem: a Del Moore interview with Bob that Eric Senich had posted on his YouTube channel

If you've been keeping up, you know that Eric is the son of Jim Senich, Bob Crane's first cousin. This makes Eric Bob's first cousin once removed, in genealogy-speak. And if you've read Bob Crane: The Definitive Biography, you also know that Jim is a major contributor to and supporter of the book.

After discovering the interview, I reached out to Eric to thank him for posting it. A few weeks later, on Saturday, June 25, 2016, I met Eric when he attended my book signing at the Barnes & Noble in Waterbury, CT. And from that point on, Eric and I became dear friends. In fact, he is now one of my best friends.

And here it is, one year later, and we have a podcast! Who'd have thunk it!

On May 24, 2017, Eric was interviewed by Tony Reno on WICC. Many, many thanks to WICC and to Tony for having Eric on his show! During his interview, Eric talked about Bob, his Dad, and our podcast, The Bob Crane Show: Reloaded. Being interviewed on WICC was significant and extremely personal for Eric. Not only is WICC Bob's old radio stomping ground, but Eric's father also worked as a DJ/radio announcer at WICC for awhile—in the early to mid-1960s. The WICC Force is strong in Eric's family!

Eric gave me some major props in his interview, but I'll tell you what—this podcast wouldn't exist without him. Nobody else could hold a candle to or even come close to serving as host. I'm thrilled, honored, humbled, and often very overwhelmed (in a good way!) by all that Eric is and does—not just with our podcast, but as a person and in our friendship. For all kinds of reasons, Eric is the magic that brings this whole podcast to life.
